Strætó and Kolofon Design Studio recently received an award in the international design competition IIIDawards, which is held by the International Institute for Information Design — an association of information designers.
The award is in the Traffic and Public Transport category and was awarded for the complete presentation of the updated route system and signage of the Strætó. The project includes all stop signs, a new website and routing information in apps.
The award, which is given every 3 years, was now presented for the fifth time. Competing in 15 different categories, each focusing on either a platform of information design or a method of presentation.
The International Institute of Information Design is an international organization founded in 1986. The organization is the main forum for information design, where the goal is to jointly develop a better and clearer presentation of information and data across professions, through research and presentations of the studies.
„We are very pleased to receive recognition like this, for this important project, which could never have happened without the good and close cooperation between us and Strætó. We are very grateful for that,“ says Hörður Lárusson, at Kolofon, who accepted the award in Vienna last May 24.
