Reykjanesbær has decided to increase its winter service on local buses from 2 January 2026. The aim is to improve the service and respond to changes that Vegagerðin is implementing on the route system in rural areas after the New Year.
Main changes:
- Sunday driving begins, the same as on Saturdays – on all routes, R1, R3 and R4

- A new morning trip is added at 06:00
- An additional trip at 18:00
R3
- A new morning trip is added at 06:00
- The trip previously departing at 18:00 is moved to 18:30
