Strætó schedule on the First day of Summer 2026

Below you can find information on Strætó’s schedule, opening hours and detours on the First day of Summer, 23 April 2026.

Capital area

• Buses drive according to a Sunday schedule.

Countryside

• Buses drive according to a Saturday schedule.
• Routes 91 -96 at East fjords will not drive this day.

Note that you can see schedules for all routes on these days under timetables.

The reception will be closed but the call centre is open from 10:00 – 14:00.

Because of road closures, many routes will take a detour, but buses will stop at all bus stops along the detours.

Route 1

• From 10:30-15:00. Instead of driving Lækjargata and Suðurgata, detour through Sæbraut, Snorrabraut and Hringbraut to and from HÍ and Skúlagata.
• From 10:30 – 13:30. Gamla Hringbraut is closed and the route will drive through Hringbraut instead.

Route 2

• From 10:30 -15:00. Instead of driving Hverfisgata, Vonarstræti and Suðurgata, detour through Snorrabraut abd Hringbraut to and from HÍ.

Route 3

• From 10:30 -15:00. Instead of driving Geirsgata, Lækjargata og Suðurgata, detour through Ánanaust and Hringbraut.
• From 10:30 – 13:30. Gamla Hringbraut is closed and the route will drive through Hringbraut instead.

Route 5

• From 10:30 – 13:30. Instead of driving Egilsgata, Barónsstígur, Gamla Hringbraut and Vatnsmýrarvegur, detour through Snorrabraut and Hringbraut.

Route 6

• From 10: 30 -15:00. Instead of driving Snorrabraut, Hverfisgata, Lækjargata and Suðurgata, detour through Hringbraut to and from HÍ.

Route 11

• From 10:30 – 15:00. Instead of driving Snorrabraut, Hverfisgata and Suðurgata, detour through Hringbraut.

Route 12 

• From 10:30 -15:00. Instead of driving Hverfisgata, Lækjargata and Skothúsvegur, detour through Snorrabraut and Hringbraut.

Route 13  

• From 10:30 – 15:00. Instead of driving Snorrabraut, Hverfisgata, Vonarstræti and Túngata, detour through Snorrabraut and Hringbraut.

Route 14 

• From 10:30 – 13:30. Instead of driving Hverfisgata, detour through Snorrabraut, Hringbraut and Ánanaust.
• From 13:30 – 15:00. Instead of driving Hverfisgata, detour through Snorrabraut.

Route 15

• From 10:30 – 13:30. Instead of driving Gamla Hringbraut, Barónsstígur and Bergþórugata, detour through Snorrabraut and Hringbraut.

One trip on Route 19 at 13:17 will run directly from Fjörður via Reykjavíkurvegur to Iðnskólinn, and will therefore skip the Norðurbær loop.
